Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
John 11 After reading this, I was rather intrigued by the message that I received from it. In this time of my life I have been doing a lot thinking regarding the timing of God. “Lord, Where are you?”, “Do you hear me?”, “What did I do wrong?”, “Are you ever going deliver me?” "Why is my life so tumultuous" "When will I ever see the promises that you spoke to me?"
Deep within this story is my question! "Lord, where are you?" Both women (Mary and Martha) in the scripture were a little upset, because they knew that if Jesus would have been there, that Lazarus would not have died! They believed this! They pretty much thought that Jesus had forsaken them.
I find myself asking these questions a lot and feeling the way that Mary and Martha did! Lord, if you would just show yourself I wouldn’t have to face these woes! I believe that! I know that! So why does it seem that God doesn’t come to our rescue? We know that God loves us (He gave his only son to give his life for us!), we know that God is able (There is NOTHING too hard for our God!), so WHERE IS HE? When God doesn’t answer us speedily, we think that He does not hear us, or is ignoring us, or as I used to say “on vacation in Bermuda!”
God has a divine purpose! We have to believe that God will meet our.t needs according to his perfect and divine time! It’s all about TRUST! This hit me like a ton of bricks! It's not an issue of God’s ability to meet our needs – it says that clearly in His word! If He is sovereign, all powerful and all knowing – of course, He can meet needs! It’s this FAITH WALK that causes us to cultivate our relationship with God and causes us to trust Him all the more!
God is constantly dwelling with us! Think about it…Where do we think that God is while we are asking for the money to pay our rent? Working on the heart of our landlord not to ask for the rent! Where do we think that God is when our loved one is sick unto death? Comforting the heart of them that may lose this loved one! Where do you think God is when we are down and in despair contemplating suicide? Dispatching the guardian cherubims to your side to protect you; sending the warring angels to stop the attack in the heavenlies and speaking directly to your spirit; encouraging you to HOLD ON! Hallelujah!!!!
God is our creator; He knows everything about us, including our needs. If we believe God created the universe why can’t we trust God to meet our needs? God promised to be with us always! Emmanuel – God with us!
Trusting in God is vital to our spiritual lives, yet our faith is so weak. The more we trust in Him…the more He rewards us and reveals Himself to us (This is the point that God had to get across to me). So, what I am saying to you is, it’s all up to you! If you don’t believe that God will do much for you, more than likely you won’t get much! The hardest part of it all is shutting down our “common sense”. Holding on to “what we believe to be true and logical” causes us to control the situation and thus causing God’s tangible presence to subside. When we believe with all we have and know causes God’s tangible presence to be evident in our lives!
I know what you are saying..."I have tried that and nothing happened", guess what – SOMETHING is happening! Each time we let go and believe God causes our faith to grow just that much more. For example, the first time we try God and nothing happens we may turn back to our old way. THEN WE COME BACK with the faith to say, I am gonna try again! Each time this happens we learn more and more about God, thus causing us to hold on to God longer and longer and eventually we see a change – IN US! Waiting on God is such a hard thing to do...believe me I know! I am IN A SEVERE TEST as we speak and ONE WORD from the Lord can change all things!!!! I know in the end it's going to be worth the wait, my prayer now is "LORD, GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO WAIT AND THE KNOWLEDGE TO DEAL WITH MY NOW! If we just wait and believe we will begin to understand that the change doesn’t have to take place on God’s end, but on ours and we learn that waiting on God is just a matter of TIME!
Be Blessed!
