ROOTS - What are they and why are they important? Webster says: "The usually underground portion of a plant that lacks buds, leaves, or nodes and serves as support, draws minerals and water from the surrounding soil, and sometimes stores food.." To me, that is POWERFUL!
I have been through ALOT in my young life and I thought I was delivered and moving on with my life. I received a call from my mom (powerful woman of God yall); she apologized for some things that took place in my life that she had no control over and also gave me a word from God. She told me that I was going BACK to my deliverance process and it would be painful! WOW! That blew my mind, I thought I was FINISHED! She told me that God said it was time to stop "living around it", now it was time to "live through it" See, I had learned to deal with it..kind of like a person who goes into their yard and cuts the top off the dandelion...what happens? In a couple of days, it grows completely back AND brings a couple of friends! That's when God spoke one word to me - ROOT! When I read the definition of it..it blew me away! I had never seen it like the Lord revealed it to me.
ROOT - MY DEFINITION - something that is UNDERGROUND...HIDDEN, LACKS BUDS, LEAVES or NODES...BEAUTY, but serves as an ANCHOR...KEEPING THAT ISSUE RIGHT THERE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!!!! Drawing on your strength, joy, faith, patience, etc...Until you learn how to DESTROY IT!!!
But for someone without a "green thumb" or "training in deliverance" you NEVER THINK OF THE ROOT! You never think that root that was planted (voluntarily or involuntarily) is what is HOLDING you away from your TRUE DELIVERANCE!
The Bible speaks of ROOTS many times, but the one scripture that stood out to me was Matt. 15:13 - "He answered, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be torn up by the roots." I HAVE GOT TO GET TO THE ROOT OF THE MATTER AND IF IT IS NOT LIKE GOD, I'VE GOT TO TEAR IT UP BY THE ROOT."
A lot of the things that I suffered in my childhood developed from being molested, neglected, rejected, hurt and other things....God took me back to it and it HURT! When he showed me how unprepared I was to handle it and how my innocence was SNATCHED away from me. Even though most of it came through involuntary avenues; whether voluntary or involuntary; spirits were released to ROOT me to that hurt and pain and because I had NO IDEA what was going on, I began to manifest different behaviors and didn't even understand why...until NOW!...WELL YALL, It's time to WAR....IN THE SPIRIT! I am going DEEP, and whatever I find that is not like GOD, it's coming UP...FROM THE ROOT!!!! IT'S GETTING DESTROYED!!!
What soldier goes to war without studying his enemy? What sports team goes into a game without studying and knowing the opponent? We can’t be any less prepared when dealing with the enemy! “My people are destroyed for the lack of Knowledge: Hosea 4:6 (paraphrased) This is not only the knowledge of Christ, but of the enemy and any other area you are dealing in! As soldiers of Christ we must be aware of our surroundings and our enemy.
The saint that becomes a “dead man walking” is the saint that has been and is still being KILLED; SLAUGHTERED even, but is still standing! What kind of glory do you think God gets when a dead man lives?! That 'dead' saint realizes that deliverance begins at the root of the matter. They understand that they have to know the how, what, when, where and why of the matter in order to get to the root and receive their deliverance. God deals with the heart of man, the “root” of man. This 'dead' saint says “no matter what, I am willing to allow God to search me and know me inside and out. I am willing to bare myself before the Lord—I want to be delivered!
God showed me something one day, a talking vision if you will….I had asked a question of the Lord briefly in prayer, I asked “Why does the saints of God seem to be the most, unhappy, unhealthy, unsuccessful and non prosperous people in the world when You – who with one word called the world into existence - are our father?” He asked me a question “What would happen for you if you, in your marriage; even when you didn’t feel your husband was worthy of it, or wasn’t doing what you felt he should do; still praised him, still called him blessed, still reverenced him as the man of our house? Well, I said, I would be a happy woman! My husband would cater to me. He would try to give me everything I wanted. Then I asked Lord, what does this have to do with the price of tea in china?! 
He answered me; If you, even when you don’t feel I “deserve” your praise, worship or service; gave it to me anyway. If you would obey me without giving me “lip” and without me having to beat it into you and out of you! What more would I do for you? I am God! I am sovereign! I can do far more than any man could ever do for you! You haven’t learned to trust Me! You haven’t learned to depend on Me! You haven’t given me your “total yes”!
